Senior Manager, Modeling & Analytics CoE
Vertex is seeking a talented and motivated individual with the desire to be part of a highly innovative company aimed at transforming the lives of people with serious diseases, their families and society. The role is as a Senior Manager within HEOR's Modeling & Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE), a designated group within the HEOR team that provides strategic and technical support to HEOR, Market Access & Pricing, and the broader commercial organization. The main responsibility of the Senior Manager will be to support the HEOR disease/asset teams in real-world observational and claims data research activities. The Senior Manager will support colleagues looking to answer questions that can be addressed using Vertex's in-licensed RWE data assets. This includes planning and conducting analyses to inform on questions related to disease prevalence, disease burden and progression, healthcare resource utilization and costs, and treatment patterns in 'real world' populations. The Senior Manager is expected to provide methodological expertise to research design, including drafting study protocols and analysis plans and developing code lists and table shells. The Senior Manager will work with a team of statistical programmers through the execution of data queries and analyses. The Senior Manager may also provide input into global product value strategy and tactics as well as input to design and interpretation of post-hoc clinical trial analyses and evidence generation studies. The role has flexibility to be in-person, hybrid, or remote. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Leverage Vertex's in-licensed RWE data assets to conduct queries and analyses to support the Vertex product portfolio and development therapeutic and disease areas. Support development of protocols and statistical analysis plans, including table shells and code compilation. Support statistical programmers through execution of data queries and analyses. Generate analytic reports, tables, and graphics to communicate research findings and present to internal stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to improve efficiency of current analytic operating model. Contribute to program library and analytic tools development (e.g., reusable macros, programming templates) and maintenance to ensure quality of data and analyses. Support HEOR disease/asset leads in assessment of research gaps and objectives that may be supported by observational research. Qualifications:
Advanced degree in health economics or a related discipline (such as mathematics, statistics, economics, epidemiology). Typically requires 6 years of relevant experience in health economics and outcomes research, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience analyzing large patient-level data and conducting statistical analyses within health databases. Working knowledge of relevant national healthcare systems. Advanced skills with SAS programming and Excel required. Excellent communication skills, strong oral/written presentation skills. Ability to plan, organize, and work on multiple tasks simultaneously in different therapeutic areas. Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, dynamic team-based environment. Pay Range: $136,000 - $204,000 The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
