Summary of Job Responsibilities: The Product Manager, Transportation is responsible for the strategic development and launch of products. The Product Manager, Transportation is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, sizing market potential, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing teams to develop and launch new products. This role will develop plans to ensure revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction is met. This role will champion and implement all new product and market strategies while determining the most effective and successful approach to growing the existing portfolio. This role will be a crucial input to the business's overall direction of its products and markets served. Reporting to:
Senior Manager, Global Strategic Marketing Duties and Responsibilities: Product Vision & Strategy:
Develop product vision, strategy, and roadmaps for the product/product line to align with company goals. Market Trends and Movement:
Develop market insight through the voice of customer research, in-depth competitive analysis, and market segmentation. Product Lifecycle: Product Planning and Prioritization:
Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to define and implement product strategies to build and launch products. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
Track product performance using KPIs and analytics. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to recognize value sell opportunities and create sales tools to support the field; ability to understand and demonstrate technical products. Experience working with competitive pricing and promotions with manufactured products. Automotive and/or aerospace market experience preferred. Strategic and user centric mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities. Robust problem-solving methodologies and proven critical thinking ability. Demonstrated knowledge in product management tools and data analysis tools. Experience with cross-functional team leadership and working with engineering, design, and marketing teams. Strong communication and presentation skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint required. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required. 3+ years of product management experience, with at least two of those years in developing a new product in an industrial or manufacturing environment. 3+ years of experience and proven technical aptitude and applications knowledge. Physical, Mental, and Visual Demands: Requires use of hands and arms at least 90% of the time. Majority of the time is spent sitting. Lifting requirements are generally less than 10 lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 50 lbs. Work Environment: Climate-controlled office environment. The employee will occasionally visit customer site for troubleshooting design. Planning/Organizing: The individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans. Quality Control: The individual demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and monitors their own work to ensure quality. The individual delivers the highest quality products that meet the requirements of internal and external customers. Adaptability: The individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Dependability: The individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance. The individual completes all duties as assigned, trains as required, and rotates into other departments as required. Total Rewards The compensation range for this position is $107,100.00 - $160,700.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
