Overview
We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to support a key federal client. In this role, you will lead the planning, execution, and automation of functional, regression, integration, performance, and data validation testing activities to ensure system stability, data integrity, and compliance with federal requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience testing complex, multi-tiered systems in a secure, data-driven environment, including validating business logic, UI components, APIs, and backend data pipelines. You will work closely with developers, database engineers, and product owners to define test coverage, automate tests where possible, and deliver validated software and data products that meet federal operational standards. This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC area, requiring on-site presence three days per week. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on business and technical specifications. Perform end-to-end testing of enterprise applications and data systems, including: Data validation (SQL-based) ETL pipeline testing Reports/dashboards validation in Business Objects Web-based UI testing Performance/load testing Security penetration testing Execute manual and automated testing, ensuring traceability to requirements and user stories. Use SQL to validate backend data transformations and support data reconciliation across systems. Design and implement automated test scripts. Utilize defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Azure DevOps to document issues and maintain testing artifacts. Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to release readiness reviews. Collaborate with developers and database administrators to support CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration. Ensure solutions comply with Section 508 accessibility, security, and federal IT policy standards. Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes. Required Skills
Strong working knowledge of: Functional, regression, and UAT testing Test automation frameworks REST API validation (e.g., Postman, Swagger) SQL and data testing Agile/Scrum methodology Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices, including Git Actions or Azure DevOps Pipelines. Experience testing systems in secure, regulated environments (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA). Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly with system integration and data-related defects. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting federal clients or working in government environments. Exposure to data warehouse, data lake, or ETL validation workflows. Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner). Experience testing cloud-hosted platforms (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government). QA certification (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA) is a plus Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field. 8+ years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a lead or senior testing role supporting enterprise software or data systems.
