Position Summary:
This HSE coordinator position is responsible for supporting the development of EHS policies and programs, advising and instructing on various safety-related topics, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures. They review existing policies and measures, organize OHS training, inspect premises and work activities, investigate incidents, and prepare reports on occurrences. Their role also includes identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with legislation, and promoting a culture of health and safety in the workplace. Key Accountabilities: Support the development of EHS policies and programs Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (PPE, operation of machinery, job site safety, risk identification, etc.) Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures Review existing policies and measures and update accordingly Initiate and organize EHS training of employees Inspect job sites and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment, identify safety concerns) Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc. Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy Record and investigate incidents to determine root causes and preventative measures Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management Manage field service PPE program and audit team member equipment Ability to collaborate with supplier and customer HSE personnel Organize team member required trainings and certifications Conduct routine environmental assessments of sites and provide detailed reports and recommendations for improvements or corrective actions. Promote a compliance culture in the area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct. Perform special projects as required Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, Health Safety or Engineering and 5 years of experience in safety, HSE; or 9 years of safety, HSE experience. Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time domestically Preferred Qualifications: Excellent ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations Excellent knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA/NFPA) and procedures Excellent ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Excellent ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Excellent ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, also to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Excellent ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and to prioritize accordingly Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality EH & S experience in one or more of the following industries: Power Generation, Construction, Large Gensets Be a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Rolls-Royce provides a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards package that includes base pay and a discretionary bonus plan.
