Field Supervisor
Provide 100% oversight and ensure that field oversight employees/contractors are completing required project tasks, ILS field observations, project schedule, QA/QC, and as-builts. Leads the resolution of field construction problems in coordination with engineering staff, EPC partner, and others, as needed. Performs daily observations on safety and monitors contractor safety training to ensure ENT expectations are met. Participates in daily tailboard and actively engage in contractor meetings (both safety kickoffs and weekly project site safety meetings). Leads teams to achieve operational excellence by: 1) setting and communicating aggressive performance expectations, 2) learning/teaching process improvements, 3) measuring/monitoring performance levels, 4) providing feedback positive/negative and coaching performance improvements to employees. Accountable for motivating a diverse and geographically dispersed Entergy and Contractor work force dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues. Manages transmission, substation and distribution construction projects while meeting budget obligations. Tracks and controls the construction phase of projects, including costs, schedule, and construction quality. Works closely with manager and other groups within Project Delivery and Power Delivery. Works with Project Management through various stage gates of the project to provide a construction viewpoint and input. This includes bid package review, design check, RFP documentation, outage plans, risk assessments, environmental, and ENs. Identify issues in the early stage gates to achieve a high level of cost and schedule certainty. Provides input for formal construction plans and proactive mitigation plans. Reports variances from process, project scope and/or design that affect safety, quality, cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction. Minimum Requirements Education required of the position: BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) or equivalent work experience. Experience required of the position: 10+ years' experience in work-related field (Transmission, Distribution, with min two years in a senior position role) OR 8+ years' experience in engineer role (Transmission, Distribution, with min two years in a senior position role). Strong knowledge of computers and related technology. Skills and abilities required of the position: In-depth understanding of electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering principles and practices as applied in the electric utility environment with demonstrated ability to analyze and problem solve. Experience in managing/executing capital projects. Working knowledge of transmission and substation construction and standards, safety procedures & policies. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with little direction with a high level of organization. Strong working knowledge of basic computer programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, strong leadership, decision making and follow through skills. Ability to both lead and work in a team environment across multiple disciplines and work groups.
