We are currently seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our front desk team! This full-time, day-shift opportunity includes a rotating weekend and holiday schedule to ensure consistent hospital support. As the welcoming face of our hospital, you'll play a vital role in the client experience. You'll be responsible for delivering compassionate, professional support during emergency and specialty visits, helping clients navigate often stressful situations with clarity and care. Key Responsibilities: Client Experience & Communication Greet and engage clients in a warm, compassionate, and professional manner. Manage check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring accurate records and a smooth experience. Communicate updates regarding patient care, status, and treatment plans clearly and empathetically. Administrative & Financial Support Process point-of-sale transactions, collect payments, and manage financial records with precision. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all client communications and documentation. Assist with preparation and upkeep of medical records and appointment schedules. Client Education & Support Provide clients with post-care instructions and answer questions about treatment plans or medications. Educate clients about emergency procedures and ensure clear understanding of next steps. Team Collaboration & Coordination Facilitate timely communication between clients and veterinary teams. Support coordination of specialty consultations and patient referrals. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary reception or client service role (emergency/specialty experience a plus) High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher is a plus Strong proficiency with point-of-sale systems and administrative software Skills & Attributes for Success: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Detail-oriented and organized with strong multitasking abilities Calm under pressure and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Passionate about client service and animal care Flexible and dependable with a willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed What We Offer

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville is an AAHA Accredited, premier referral and emergency veterinary hospital. We have an emergency and critical care unit that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have a variety of board-certified surgeons and specialists at AESC who treat a wide range of veterinary orthopedic, oncology, thoracic, abdominal, and soft-tissue conditions. Our team includes over 20 compassionate and highly trained Licensed Veterinary Technicians, numerous veterinary assistants, other support staff, and supportive administration. We have the latest specialized surgery and diagnostic instrumentation and equipment including 16-slice CT scanner, Vivid iQ echocardiogram platform, digital radiology, ultrasound systems, fluoroscopy unity, endoscopy, high-def Storz tower with new laparoscopic equipment, Arthrex equipment, LigaSure, Autocon III, Storz Ho-YAG laser, Synthes locking plates, and ESF equipment. In 2025, we will be completing our 20,000-square-foot specialty expansion and we will be adding Neurology, Cardiology, and other specialists to our team, as well as a new MRI scanner, CT scanner, linear accelerator, IR suite with ceiling-mounted fluoroscopy, and surgical suites measuring at least 18' x 18'.
