Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Quality Inspector A (NDT) to join our Quality Assurance Team in Grand Prairie, TX. The Quality Inspector A (NDT) uses NDT methods to inspect and/or certify compliance of materials, parts, products, components, assemblies or sub-assemblies and who must be qualified or certified in the following fields of activity: Magnetic Particle (MT), Fluorescent Penetrant (PT), Eddie Current (ET), Ultrasonic (UT). Your challenges: Part Processing: 40% Application of the various NDT methods allowing inspection and/or certification of the parts health concerning cracks. Understand and implement the work instructions in the method for which he/she is qualified according to approved written instructions (Inspection Document (DI), technical sheet (FT), Work Card (CT), Inspection process sheet, etc.). Treat the parts, document the results Carry out any preparation necessary of the parts before or after test according to work instructions Carry out interpretations and evaluations of specific product or product type for acceptance or rejection, while following an approved instruction. Ensure areas to be inspected, the position of check phases and associated documents for the preparation of instruction files (DI), Technical Sheets (FT) and/or Work Cards (CT). Calibration/ Qualification of the room and equipment: 30% Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment Carry out the adjustment of the equipment items according to written instructions Collection of reference specimens Perform concentration checks Perform contamination checks Calibrate lamp illumination levels Count & Surface Preparation of Parts: 20% Validate inclusion of all parts required to be processed Degrease all parts by detergent wash and Ultrasonic Water rinse all parts with Ultrasonic Documentation: 10% Complete maintenance records Certify pass/fail for inspection of all parts Update SAP labor tracking Additional Responsibilities: Standardize technical methods used and document with written procedures and/or NDT work instructions Other duties as assigned Your boarding pass: Education: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred: Associate Degree in aviation or industry related. National Aeronautical Standard (NAS) 410 level II certification course completion Experience: Required: Five years of proven experience doing NDT testing in at least two NDT methods Preferred: Actively engaged in three or more NDT methods for five years as a NAS 410 certified level II Licensure/Certifications: Required: American Society of Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) and National Aerospace Standard (NAS 410) Level II NDT certification or equivalent certification from other countries' corresponding agencies in at least two NDT methods Preferred: A&P license in addition to required licenses/certifications American Society of Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) and National Aerospace Standard (NAS 410) Level III NDT certification or equivalent certification from other countries' corresponding agencies Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Competence: Required: Be qualified to direct and perform inspections in the method required. Ability to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Level III that they are familiar with and can perform the applicable examinations using suitable calibration blocks and written procedures prepared for examination of articles within the first 90 days. Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method. Have the ability to apply detailed techniques to products or parts within the limitations of the qualifications requirements. Be able to organize and report NDT results in a manner specified by the employing organization. Ability to read and understand technical and regulatory documentation. They must know the applications and limitations of the various NDT methods used to locate defects in aircraft structure and components. Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language effectively with all levels of personnel. Technical Systems Proficiency: Required: Competent user of Microsoft Office or G Suite Preferred: Competent user of Microsoft SharePoint, ORION, TIPI, SAP Travel Required: 5% Domestic and International Citizenship: Authorized to Work in the US Clearance: None Decision Making, Complexity: Must routinely judge the airworthiness of the component inspected for serviceability and safety to continue in service operation. Includes but is not limited to decisions resulting in loss of revenue, property or life. A high degree of independent decision making and integrity is required. The examination must be on a periodic basis, not to exceed 1 year. Able to distinguish and differentiate between colors necessary for the inspection method for which qualification is sought. Color vision testing need only be accomplished one time, usually at the initial vision examination.
