The trader will develop strategies to engage effectively in the real-time and short-term energy markets, optimizing client generation and native load requirements in bilateral and/or RTO markets. This position will work closely with the generation and fuels teams to allocate the plant's resources and make economic decisions, while securing the necessary transmission for delivery. Candidates should be familiar with the economic and dispatch characteristics of combined cycle, peaking, nuclear, and pump storage facilities, as well as other generating units. Additionally, they should understand the protocols and requirements outlined in ISO/RTO tariffs. Proficiency in using the PJM, SPP, and MISO market portals, as well as other industry tools used to reserve transmission and tag market transactions.
