Lead Instructor

The Lead Instructor is responsible for teaching and assisting in the administration of the EMS Program. Additionally, this position will entail working in close partnership with the EMS Quality and Training Manager, promoting a positive image through community education in both the healthcare and business fields. The Lead Instructor reports directly to the EMS Quality and Training Manager. Qualification Requirements: At least two (2) years of experience in developing, organizing and teaching within an initial EMS program at the Paramedic Level. As an instructor, is able to present information in a structured, clear and concise manner in a structured learning environment. Self-motivated, well organized, and capable of working closely with all personnel, ability to be self-driven and work independently when necessary. Possesses knowledge and maintains application of all clinical skills in pre-hospital advanced life support. Has a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a paramedic. Has the ability to interact with a variety of people. Capable of working independently and as a member of a team. Ability to objectively and accurately evaluate the performance of students within the classroom. Ability to independently prepare learning and instructional materials in a variety of methods in all didactic, psychomotor and affective areas. Possesses minimum computer literacy skills. Has knowledge of adult education principles and techniques. Possesses knowledge of all local, regional, and state rules and regulations pertaining to EMS and ambulance operations. Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Current State of Michigan Paramedic License. Current State of Michigan Instructor/Coordinator License. Valid State of Michigan Driver's License, with safe driving history. Current certification as an AHA CPR instructor. Current certification as an AHA ACLS instructor. Current certification as a PHTLS or another trauma course instructor. Current certification as a PALS, PEPP or EPC instructor.
