Be the welcoming face of the Health Department! As a Public Health Office Assistant, you'll help keep our services running smoothly by assisting patients, managing registration, supporting clerical operations, and maintaining accurate records. You'll play a vital role in connecting the community to essential health services and ensuring a positive experience for all. What You'll Do: Greet and assist patients in person and by phone Register patients, schedule visits, and verify insurance Enter and maintain data in state health systems (e.g., MOHSIS, CASA) Collect and reconcile payments and maintain accurate records Support vaccine inventory and monitor storage temperatures Help with reports, mail, supplies, and general office duties Provide clerical support at outreach sites and special clinics Assist with birth/death certificate processing and voter registration Promote a friendly, organized, and professional front office environment Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent At least 2 years of clerical, receptionist, or data entry experience (preferably in healthcare or customer service) Typing speed of at least 30 wpm and basic Microsoft Office skills Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multitask effectively Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Medicaid billing or vendor communication Familiarity with basic billing processes Ready to be the heart of our front desk?
