Project Manager Associate

Under general direction, the Project Manager Associate communicates with clients in a professional and timely manner to achieve and maintain a strong customer relationship; proactively guides and tracks the progress of small and large, complex project completion A to Z, initiates meetings with all lab personnel involved with successful project completion; and provides customer voice companywide, escalating issues to management when necessary. This position requires exceptional ability to prioritize duties efficiently with a proactive approach, attention to issues important to all internal and external parties, ability to listen and persuade others to aid in the quest for desired outcomes while maintaining an approachable, open demeanor with all project related team mates. The Project Manager Associate will also actively participate and be accountable for the project management functions as outlined below: Serve as the liaison between clients, the sales team, the laboratory, and the finance team to achieve project goals. Manage projects from start to finish, including contract execution, project setup, execution, and evaluation of results. Respond to client inquiries in a professional and timely manner, handling technical explanations and escalating issues as needed to the appropriate team leader, manager, or director. Maintain accurate and complete account information, contact logs, and project profiles in the Client Service Module of ATLAS, and relay project information to the laboratory effectively. Review the contact logs of the Sales group and Project Managers, initiate process improvement measures, and address client concerns promptly, escalating issues to management when necessary. Utilize LIMS to manage project accuracy and status. Set up media shipment guidelines and provide or seek appropriate personnel for technical support to clients and sales staff. Generate quotes as needed. Proactively participate in collection activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: BS degree in science or an environmental field required; previous environmental industry experience and familiarity with EPA or Toxic Organic methods preferred. At least one year of project management experience involving multiple departments from contract to project completion preferred. Knowledge of analytical considerations and/or compound data such as vapor pressure, polarity, chemical reactivity, standard preparation techniques, and column and detector selection, to provide a technical understanding when working with clients. Effective written and oral communication skills. Previous sales or customer service experience with knowledge of the sales cycle and required documentation. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects with high accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in using various computer programs, including Word and Excel. Consistent and professional problem-solving approach in a time-sensitive, production-oriented environment. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork, working closely with various departments to maintain strong working relationships. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, such as sitting for up to 8 hours per day and using a computer and telephone for prolonged periods. The employee is occasionally required to push handcarts with objects on board weighing up to 50 pounds and lift up to 15 pounds. Lifting of objects in excess of 15 pounds will require authorized personnel or team lifting. The employee is also required to reach items above and below standard desk or table level.
