HDR is seeking a strong leader to lead and support our Building Engineering team in Austin, TX in partnership with the Central Texas Area Building Engineering Services Business Group Manager. The Austin BES Lead will be primarily focused on the leadership, strategy, and growth of the office while overseeing and coordinating project delivery in the Austin office with an emphasis on supporting our business class leaders in the Area. This person will coordinate with the Central Texas BES Manager, the Market Sector Leads, and other BES Managers in other South Central Region areas as part of a management team to lead BES in the Central Region. Responsibilities will include: Supervising and mentoring section managers and key staff. Supporting hiring efforts through communicating and vetting hiring needs with section managers. Working closely with the Area BG Manager and Professional Service Leader to maintain staff workload forecasting data to ensure proper resource allocation. Facilitating scope and fee input to project managers for proposals. Communicating with project managers to obtain scope/schedule/budget information and build a culture of cooperation. Building relationships and coordinating with internal clients and external BES Market Sector staff to support the pursuit and delivery of work. Collaborating on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, to achieve the established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company. Managing and leading project teams and programs to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. Managing multi-disciplinary design teams from project conception to completion. Controlling project budget, scope, and schedule. Contract management/negotiations. Creating proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget. Participating in internal project reviews. Working cooperatively with local office leads, other business group leads, technical directors, and marketing managers. Preferred Qualifications: BS in Engineering or Building Construction degree Minimum of 10 years experience in project and/or program management Committed to quality and improvement and promoting HDR's values Located in Austin or Round Rock and willing to be primarily working from the office Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field 10 years related experience A minimum of 5 years of project management experience Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
