As a Medical Assistant -- Occupational Health, you will have the opportunity to support the onboarding of new caregivers and address ongoing health needs for existing caregivers. In this role, you'll be responsible for drawing blood and working alongside a team of occupational health professionals, including Nurses and Patient Service Specialists. This is the ideal role for an individual who provides care with empathy and confidentiality and is aligned with our values of quality, safety and teamwork. Additionally, the ideal candidate is resilient and possesses the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment. In this role, you'll benefit from working closely with a leader who is focused on caregiver health and development. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM

5:00PM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Utilize medical and administrative skills to support patients and caregivers. Assist with performing assessments and treatments. Gather and update information related to health maintenance and specimen collection. Document patient care. Identify medication changes and update allergies at each visit. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administer specific medications under the direction of a physician. Maintain exam rooms, equipment and medical supplies. Assist in pre-visit planning and updating health maintenance tabs. Complete filing, reception duties, scheduling, data entry and patient registration. Travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting Program Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered Demonstrated clinical proficiency Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Medical Assistant (MA) Certification Successful completion of a CC Externship Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity to operate office equipment Extended periods of standing, walking or sitting Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision Handling and lifting objects up to 50 pounds and/or moving objects up to10 to 25 pounds Physical demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work Personal Protective Equipment: Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our tobacco free and drug free environment.
