This professional will identify, track and manage contract changes to minimize potential cost and schedule impacts for complex projects (greater than $50 million) and (sub)contracts as warranted. Provide contract claims support for Construction Management and EPC projects on large multiple/complex claims. As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our 3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. Acts in capacity of a "lead person." Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction. Maintain a record of all WA's issued and interface with the design office to issue contract revisions as required. Compile contract revisions or change orders for execution. Interface with the field staff to identify back-chargeable events and quantify the costs. Review documentation of back-chargeable costs to suppliers and construction Subcontractors. Monitor pursuit all back charges for collection from suppliers and construction Subcontractors. Monitor contract correspondence to ensure timely notification to construction Subcontractors and suppliers of back-chargeable events or other contractual issues. Maintain appropriate logs, records, and other documentation. Coordinate with the design office as necessary to commercially administrate the prime contract. Track all Technical Field Service by documenting each visit and coordinating the addition/deletion of time from the original Contract. Review invoices for supply contracts (backcharges, TA time) and subcontracts (RFMP's, WA's and Change Orders). Train others within the project team on the change management process. Provide input to policy and procedure review and development process Provide strategic guidance to internal project management Develops and implements corporate claim management processes and procedures. Manages contract claims and risk issues related to prime agreements and/or subcontract agreements. Expedites swift claims resolution with clients and subcontractors. Manages claims with clients. Identifies and implements claims processes and procedures on projects through administration of the prime contract. Assists projects during the negotiation stage by providing advice on claims avoidance. Reviews equipment and subcontractor agreements prior to commitment and provides advice on potential claim issues. Manages project specific claims letter templates. Provides input to corporate claim letter templates. Conducts necessary research and acquires supporting documentation to substantiate claims to clients or subcontractors. Assesses prime agreement risk profile and communicates to the project team at project inception. This includes, but is not limited to, notice requirements, statutory requirements, project specific definitions such as Force Majeure and dispute resolution. Develops a project specific claims summary report during project closeout to support lessons learned and continuous improvement. Functions as a consultant to advising on claims and disputes with subcontractors. Updates and reports progress on claims electronically in a corporate database. Trains, develops and mentors others on their duties and accountabilities. Occasional training of other functional roles on claims management. Preferred BA, BS, or MS graduate, or JD including relevant work experience. Preferred ten (10) years relevant experience. Experience on large sized projects and contract administration preferred. EPC experience preferred. Advanced legal/contractual agreements (clients/suppliers/subcontractors) and risk management expertise encompassing all aspects of the EPC process. Demonstrates expert contract claims experience with large/complex EPC project claims. Knowledgeable of project controls including CPM scheduling and cost engineering concepts. Excellent communicator to include presentation skills and proven effective writing skills. Advanced knowledge of EPC Industry. Proficient computer skills. Proven expertise at problem solving (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, and resolve). Ability to work independently. Results orientated, interpersonal and team working skills.
