Marine Electrician
We are seeking skilled Marine Electricians to join our team, providing essential support for US Naval Ships. In this role, you will be involved in cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations, ensuring successful and safe operations for our Navy and Military customers. This is a six-month contract-to-hire opportunity, with the possibility to expand based on performance. Responsibilities
Perform troubleshooting and correct electrical malfunctions. Conduct various tests and experiments, requiring minor modifications in test setups or procedures. Operate standard test equipment and record test data. Perform electrical work on ships, boats, and marine equipment. Repair electrical wiring to restore engine and navigation systems. Secure work areas aboard vessels to avoid electrical hazards. Maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests and drawings. Perform routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests. Operate and adjust simple test equipment. Actively participate in safety surveillances and walk-throughs. Essential Skills
Experience in electrical work in a related field and shipboard experience. Ability to read drawings at tradesman level. Competency in multipin connectors. Knowledge in electrical testing requirements, including ground checks and RSPT testing. Ability to implement safety programs and perform preliminary QA testing. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to obtain an OSHA 10 certification. Respirator qualification and PPE compliance throughout shifts. Familiarity with NAVSEA, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within electrical repair, fabrication, and installation. Ability to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, and work in kneeling positions. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds for the majority of the shift. Why Work Here?
