What you’ll do Become part of an iconic brand set to revolutionize the electric pickup truck and rugged SUV market by: Leading the design and release of instrument panels and consoles, ensuring innovative solutions for Scout trucks and SUVs. Fostering engineering excellence and serving as a knowledge source in interior design. Building and coaching a diverse, collaborative, high-performance team, promoting ongoing learning and development. Designing and creating simulation environments for testing vehicle body systems related to handling, safety, and driving experience. Developing prototypes for virtual and physical testing, including field testing. Ensuring designs meet safety standards and U.S. regulations. Monitoring consumer experience and proposing system improvements. Contributing to the design of production facilities for body systems. Managing resources effectively, including infrastructure, finances, suppliers, and personnel. Participating as a key decision-maker within the technical leadership team and coordinating with all Scout functions. This role is based in Novi, MI, requiring 3-4 days of in-person attendance and occasional travel for company events. What you’ll bring We seek employees with integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, a positive attitude, and a growth mindset. You should be adaptable to change and collaborative in achieving goals. Additional qualifications include: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, or related fields. 10+ years in body interior engineering, focusing on IP and console design and release, with experience in all product development phases. Strong technical skills in interior systems and a problem-solving approach based on first principles. Familiarity with CAE or direct experience in the field. Ability to build strong relationships across organizational levels. The initial salary range is $140,000–$170,000, with final offers based on experience and skills. The role requires in-person presence in Novi, MI, with travel as needed.
