Summary
This is an ONSITE POSITION.
This role will serve as the Privacy Analyst under the supervision of the Corporate Compliance Officer and will provide support and operations for initiatives critical to information privacy practices. The Privacy Analyst will be responsible for conducting privacy training, development of procedures, auditing and monitoring, risk mitigation planning, and other program elements. This experienced professional must be able to analyze, investigate, and respond to complex privacy scenarios with limited supervision. Reviews and analyzes medical records for compliance with HIPAA and other applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Provides education based on audit results and during New Employee Orientation.
This is an ONSITE POSITION.
Education And Formal Training
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business or other healthcare related field required. Preferred certifications: CHPC (Certified in Health Care Privacy Compliance – HCCA), CHPS (Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security-AHIMA), or CIPP/US (Certified Information Privacy Professional U.S. private-sector), or commitment to obtain one of the following certifications within 1- year of employment: CHPC, CHPS or CIPP/US. Must maintain the certification for the duration of employment.
Work Experience
Minimum of three or more years of recent experience in a healthcare environment's privacy program.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate with various levels of management and staff. Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to perform diverse tasks with firm deadlines without sacrificing accuracy and quality. Strong investigative/research and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand big picture with attention to detail. Ability to work independently, in a self-directed manner as well as in teams or on a task force, to gather information, analyze data, meet regulatory deadlines, and report on the status of projects, as assigned. Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to Privacy and data security of confidential information.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to see and read reports, computer display terminals, and have manual dexterity to keypunch data via a keyboard. Requires mobility to meet with management at their service area throughout the Health System. Must be able to lift and carry greater than ten pounds. May require extended periods of sedentary work and extended working hours to meet stated objectives. Hearing and verbal ability to interact with staff, managers, patients, and vendors.
