The Director of Finance – New Business Integration plays a pivotal leadership role in evaluating the financial performance of newly acquired businesses throughout their post-acquisition integration period. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis, this individual will work closely with operations teams, Doctors, and executive leadership to deliver financial insights, foster alignment, and ensure a seamless transition into standard financial practices and performance targets. This position demands both strong analytical capabilities and exceptional interpersonal skills to influence, collaborate with, and guide a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the lead finance liaison for acquired entities, overseeing all aspects of financial integration from post-close through transition. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, regional operations leaders, and executive leadership. Establish standardized financial reporting processes, including monthly performance reviews, variance analyses, and customized KPIs for each acquisition. Partner with clinical and operations teams to analyze revenue streams, cost structures, and profitability drivers—turning insights into actionable financial guidance. Develop and manage integration budgets, forecasts, and key financial milestones to support a smooth transition. Contribute to post-acquisition planning efforts by identifying synergy opportunities and driving operational efficiencies. Promote a culture of financial accountability and rigor during the integration phase while maintaining flexibility to adapt to business-specific needs. Translate complex financial data into clear, compelling insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders, from clinical staff to senior executives. Prepare and deliver integration progress updates and financial reports for internal leadership and board-level audiences.
Qualifications & Skills
Demonstrated success partnering with physicians, clinicians, and executives to provide strategic financial support. Exceptional communication skills and executive presence; able to clearly articulate financial strategies to diverse audiences. Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic, evolving environments. Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with financial tools such as Intacct, Workday Adaptive, and Power BI preferred. Background in multi-site or multi-unit financial operations is essential. Collaborative, professional, and solutions-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA or CPA highly preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, operational finance, or post-merger integration—preferably within healthcare, multi-location businesses, or private equity-backed companies.
