PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled
Cable Harness & Soldering Assembler
for a
1-year contract-to-hire
opportunity supporting critical aerospace and defense manufacturing operations in
Oldsmar, Florida . This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly, including wire stripping, crimping, soldering, and harness fabrication using copper and coaxial cable. Candidates must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow technical processes with precision and consistency.
Required Qualifications:
High mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail 1-2 years of experience in
cable harness assembly
or related electrical assembly work Familiarity with
IPC-A-610
and
IPC/WHMA-A-620
workmanship standards Ability to
read wire harness drawings and print instructions Proficiency in the use of
hand tools
such as wire strippers, crimpers, and cutters Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production processes Must be able to
read and write in English Must be able to
pass a medical exam
per supplier requirements U.S. Citizenship may be required due to program requirements Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in
aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics
assembly environments Familiarity with
copper and coaxial cable
assembly Soldering experience per IPC standards Key Responsibilities:
Strip, crimp, terminate, and assemble various types of copper and coax wire Fabricate and route cable harnesses according to drawings and process documents Ensure compliance with quality and workmanship standards (IPC 610/620) Maintain an organized and clean work area Collaborate with peers and supervisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of assemblies Identify and report any quality issues or deviations from build specifications
