Description
The Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful Department is hiring for a Project Manager. The purpose of this position is to provide various administrative, research and technical functions associated with Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful (KADB), as well as to monitor department's services and programs.
This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. Essential Tasks • Develops and implements recycling programs and strategies, including assessing waste streams, identifying recycling opportunities, and setting up collection, sorting, and processing systems. • Represents the City and County in meetings with representatives of governmental agencies, professional, business, and community organizations and the public. • Creates and executes plans to improve recycling efficiency, reduce waste, and promote sustainability. • Capable to handle various tasks, prioritize efficiently, and adhere to deadlines. • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal recycling regulations and environmental standards. This includes managing hazardous waste according to regulations where applicable. • Collaborates with internal departments, external vendors (e.g., waste haulers, recycling facilities), and the community to enhance recycling initiatives and address challenges. • Plans, organizes and publicizes various recycling and collection events. • Ensures that equipment and facilities used by the public are in working order on a daily basis; advises patrons on the use of computer resources, operations, and the Internet. • May serve as the departmental representative and liaison to the community, professional and business organizations. • Oversee the creation and delivery of social media content, ensuring brand consistency and quality. • Assists in preparing department's annual budget, monitors budget expenditures and processes accounts payable; maintains petty cash fund; prepares related reports. • Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Qualification • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or Public Administration or a closely related field. • Two (2) years of experience as a professional or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Physical Demands: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken. • None
Special Certifications And Licenses: • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history Supplemental Information
