Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized and hands-on
India Operations Manager
to
run day-to-day execution of Mati's field and franchise operations across India . This is a key leadership role responsible for making sure that everything works on the ground from material movement to farmer engagement, from SOP compliance to franchise support. You'll oversee teams and activities at 7-10 regional bases, ensuring timely deployment, data integrity, and operational quality across thousands of field sites and partners. You'll also be responsible for enabling our
franchise partners
to succeed by offering training, oversight, and systems support. The right candidate will be process-obsessed, thrive in fast-moving environments, and enjoy building systems to bring order to complexity. The role offers leadership opportunity and can grow into Head of Operations and potentially COO over the time once proven. Key Responsibilities
Core Operations
Own the end-to-end execution of ERW operations across all India field locations.

Ensure that feedstock procurement, quality checks, transport, field deployment, sampling, and farmer engagement are running smoothly and on schedule.
Coordinate day-to-day needs with local field teams, crushers, logistics vendors, and lab teams.
Franchise Management
Support the onboarding, training, and launch of new franchise partners in India.
Monitor franchise partner compliance with SOPs using the matiC system; troubleshoot operational issues.
Act as the key link between Mati HQ and franchise operations escalate issues and share learnings across sites.
People & Process
Supervise and support a network of 100+ field staff, including field associates, warehouse coordinators, and lab assistants.
Drive field team performance through clear SOPs, field visit audits, and coaching.
Maintain updated documentation and playbooks; identify process bottlenecks and work with tech/admin leads to fix them.
Monitoring & Field Travel
Spend ~10-15 days/month traveling to field locations to ensure on-ground processes are followed.
Coordinate with HSE and Quality teams to ensure deployments meet safety and data standards.
Provide weekly reporting on field KPIs, issues, and resolution timelines.
Ideal Candidate Profile
8+ years of experience
in field operations, supply chain, agriculture, or last-mile logistics in India.
Proven ability to
manage multi-site, distributed field teams
and complex logistics.
Exceptionally
detail-oriented
and systematic builds checklists in their sleep.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills you know how to work across functions to get things done.
Comfortable traveling extensively to rural locations across India.
Experience working with franchise models or decentralized operations a plus.
Familiarity with ERPs, field data systems, or logistics platforms (bonus if experienced in digital MRV carbon platforms).
