Overview We are seeking an organized and detail oriented Content Operations Manager to lead and manage the ingestion, organization, rights management, and distribution of music content across our digital ecosystem. This role bridges product strategy and day-to-day execution, requiring expertise in content workflows, rights compliance, and technical systems including SQL and metadata standards. The ideal candidate combines industry experience with strong operational rigor, cross-functional communication skills, and the ability to optimize and innovate our content supply chain. Key Responsibilities Content Management & Ingestion
Oversee ingestion, storage, and organization of music metadata, audio, and image assets from labels, distributors, and partners. Maintain ownership of content workflows, optimizing processes for accuracy, speed, and compliance. Collaborate with engineering to implement and refine ingestion tools, metadata normalization, deduplication, and automation. Ensure delivery specifications align with DSP requirements and industry best practices. Rights Management & Reporting Manage rights metadata and ensure compliance with licensing agreements and standards (e.g., DDEX, ISRC, RIN, MEAD). Lead PRO reporting processes (e.g., ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SoundExchange), including timely delivery and payment reconciliation. Resolve rights issues, document takedown procedures, and support initiatives related to creator credits and attribution. Data Management & Technical Analysis
Use SQL and scripting languages and tools to analyze ingestion data, detect anomalies, and enhance metadata completeness. Partner with engineering to define data storage and retrieval strategies Automate workflows using APIs and workflow management tools to scale content operations. Cross-Functional & Partner Collaboration
Serve as liaison between curation, engineering, legal, licensing, and product teams. Represent the company in discussions with rightsholders, delivery platforms (e.g., FUGA), and industry working groups. Provide support and guidance to internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing collaboration. Strategic Leadership
Develop long-term strategies for content ingestion and delivery. Define and track KPIs for content operations efficiency, data quality, and compliance. Design and manage scalable systems and processes to support business growth and evolving product needs. Qualifications 5+ years in digital distribution, content operations, or label tech/metadata roles. Deep knowledge of music metadata standards and DSP ecosystem. A passion for music, media, and technology with an entrepreneurial mindset. Comfort with scripting languages and cloud computing concepts. Strong organizational and project management skills in fast-paced environments. Experience working with DDEX-compliant XML feeds and content pipelines. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
