Sylver Rain Consulting is an IT solutions provider specializing in custom software development, cloud computing, IT project support, 508 compliance, AI, machine learning, and systems integration. We are seeking a Sr. 508 Tester/Subject Matter Expert to support our Washington DC team and clients.

The candidate will support our Section 508 Program by testing and validating user interfaces against accessibility requirements, advising on digital accessibility implementation, and increasing adoption of accessibility testing within the client environment. Responsibilities include configuration, training, operation support, and tracking usage of accessibility testing products, using manual and automated testing for websites, applications, documents, software, or hardware within scope of Section 508.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Verify client conformance with accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance.

Provide accessibility testing and technical assistance to clients.

Deliver high-quality test results, awareness, and information services, including testing for IT governance and lifecycle reviews.

Produce clear reports on Section 508 compliance and remediation of electronic documents.

Coach development teams on accessibility testing for web and electronic content.

Conduct periodic accessibility assessments and report results to the Section 508 Program Manager.

Evaluate and recommend Section 508 compliance assessment tools and assistive technologies.

Provide technical assistance such as web developer guidance, client training, and document accessibility assessment.

Qualifications/Position Requirements

Deep knowledge of WCAG AA standards.

Familiarity with Acrobat Pro and common tools like SharePoint, Microsoft Office.

Experience with automated testing tools (DeQue Axe, WorldSpace, Attest, Assure).

Experience setting up testing tools and assistive devices (JAWS, NVDA, ACCVerify).

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and strong communication skills.

Minimum 5 years of testing experience for 508 compliance.

Understanding of 508 requirements, accessible forms, and tables.

Experience writing test plans, performing integration testing, and documenting compliance.

Certified IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) and DHS Trusted Tester Certification.

Skills and Education

Enthusiastic, proactive, with excellent listening and client-facing skills.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management ability.

Ability to synthesize information and communicate effectively via email, documentation, and virtual meetings.

Bachelor's Degree required; in computer science, information systems, or engineering preferred.

Must obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Job Details Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000/year
