About Goldman Sachs Marketing Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs aims to unify and advance the discipline, leveraging data and technology to build a scalable, consistent approach to brand and business growth. The team includes various centers of excellence such as Brand Marketing, Strategy & Transformation, Content, Design, Media, and Marketing Tech, collaborating across revenue units to maximize impact. Role Overview We are seeking a Vice President, Senior Design Manager, Design Systems, to lead and expand our enterprise-wide design system within the Global Marketing Team. The role involves governance, adoption, and scaling of a robust design system that creates cohesive digital experiences for clients and prospects. You will manage and mentor a team of design system designers, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and oversee the design and implementation of UI components, ensuring accessibility and best practices. Responsibilities
Execute the roadmap and governance model for the central design system supporting multiple product teams. Balance consistency and usability with flexibility to ensure scalability. Promote design system adoption organization-wide, securing stakeholder and executive support. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to measure and track the impact of the design system. Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering innovation and collaboration. Facilitate knowledge sharing, training, and onboarding to increase contributions. Manage the design, evolution, and documentation of UI components and patterns from Figma to code. Ensure compliance with accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), performance, and usability standards. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate emerging technologies. Qualifications
7+ years in UX/UI or product design, with focus on design systems. 3+ years in design leadership or management. Expertise in Figma; knowledge of development technologies (React, design tokens, Swift UI). Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Proven experience scaling design systems in enterprise or multi-product organizations. Knowledge of motion design principles and branding within design systems is a plus. Salary Range The expected base salary is $125,000–$250,000, plus potential discretionary bonuses based on performance.
