The Data Analytics Manager will lead the development and coordination of reporting tools to support various business units at Associated Food Stores (AFS). This role is crucial for providing meaningful insights to decision-makers through comprehensive data analysis gathered from multiple business touchpoints. The manager will employ data science methodologies to democratize information, ensuring that all stakeholders have access to valuable insights.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Reporting Tool Development : Collaborate with the AFS technology team to design and construct reporting tools using business intelligence tools, ensuring they meet the needs of various departments. Data Analysis : Utilize software (e.g., Python, JSON) to query data and extract insights that support specific business use cases. Ensure data-driven decision-making across the organization. Knowledge Sharing : Act as a liaison between the analytics team and internal stakeholders, clearly communicating actionable insights and recommendations. Training and Development : Provide coaching and educational opportunities to internal team data stewards, enhancing their understanding and ability to leverage data insights. Organizational Education : Coordinate and conduct training sessions to promote the adoption of analytics solutions at scale, including retail membership initiatives. Subject Matter Expertise : Participate in meetings and provide expert guidance on analytics-related topics as needed, contributing to strategic decision-making processes. Team Leadership : Supervise and mentor members of the analytics team, offering constructive feedback and support to foster professional growth. Dashboard Management : Adjust vendor dashboards to ensure optimal visibility of key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics, facilitating informed decision-making. Minimum Qualifications:
Education : Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, data science, or a related field preferred. Experience : A minimum of five years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for retail experience. Technical Skills : Proficiency in Python, JSON, or other data querying software, with a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets. Analytical Skills : Proven analytical and financial skills, with a strong aptitude for data-driven decision-making. Communication Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. Project Management : Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.
