Job Title: Director of Gen AI/Software Engineering Job Location: Manhattan, NYC Work Schedule: Hybrid - 2-3 days/week on-site. Pay Rate: $180k-$200k/yr. + 20% Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits + 25 days PTO + 10 floating holidays + 401k with 3% Match Must have:

* 10+ years in software engineering * 5+ years in progressive technical leadership/people management * Tech stack expertise in: C#, Azure, React * SaaS product experience required, preferably in high-scale, customer-facing platforms * Proven track record leading multiple teams doing AI projects (LLMs, agents, MCP Servers, prompt engineering) * Familiar with GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Devon * Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science or related field

About the Role

We are seeking an innovative and execution-focused Director of Generative AI Software Engineering to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of AI-driven solutions within our legal tech platform. In this highly visible leadership role, you will define and drive the roadmap for generative AI and autonomous systems, manage multiple SCRUM teams, and help scale impactful products at the intersection of AI, legal, and SaaS.

Key Responsibilities

Define and execute the generative AI roadmap in alignment with business and engineering goals Lead ideation, prototyping, and scaling of AI-driven solutions including LLMs, Copilots, and autonomous agents Act as a creative, strategic leader to inspire engineering teams to push boundaries of innovation Own technology architecture and development for complex, scalable SaaS products Oversee daily activities and performance of multiple SCRUM teams Monitor key engineering and operational metrics to drive consistent delivery excellence Guide estimation of engineering efforts, planning for new features, and remediation of legacy code Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to deliver secure, performant, cloud-native applications Promote transparency and accountability through data-driven processes across teams Identify market gaps and align technology delivery to client needs and feedback Lead cross-functional global collaboration with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams Shape our overall software development strategy, tooling, roadmaps, and best practices Drive execution through structured 90, 120, and 180-day planning in partnership with executive leadership

Requirements:
