About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in either AWS or Azure, and working knowledge of the other. This role is critical in building and maintaining the infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines that support our applications and services in a multi-cloud environment.
As part of an agile Infrastructure team, you'll contribute to a 24/7 production environment, focusing on reliability, security, scalability, and developer efficiency. You'll build infrastructure as code, create CI/CD workflows, automate deployments, and support containerized workloads across environments.
Key Responsibilities •Develop cloud infrastructure using Terraform •Manage CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions •Build and manage containerized services (ECS, App Service, etc.) •Implement observability using tools like CloudWatch (AWS) and Azure Monitor •Develop and maintain scripts in Bash and Python for automation and operational tasks •Provide infrastructure support for development and data analyst teams •Support 24/7 operations, including participation in an on-call rotation
Required Qualifications
General Skills •Strong proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code •Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for automation •Containerization in general •Strong git skills: branching, rebasing, conflict resolution, pull requests, commit hygiene •Scripting in Bash and Python •Solid Linux administration skills •Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) •Cloud cost optimization •Capable of writing strong, clear documentation and articulating complex problems to audiences of varying degrees of technical knowledge
Cloud Specialization Requirements
Candidate must be highly proficient in at least AWS or Azure and have experience in the other. Ideally, the candidate has experience writing terraform in both clouds.
AWS •Monitoring: CloudWatch (logs, alarms, dashboards, EventBridge) •Security & Access: IAM Identity Center (SSO), customer-managed KMS keys and access policies •Compute & Networking: ECS (Fargate), Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront •Data Services: RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL), Aurora, SQS, SES, Step Functions •Security & Governance: GuardDuty, Security Hub, AWS Config, multi-account strategy best practices
Azure •Messaging & Orchestration: Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps •Data Integration: Azure Data Factory •Compute: Azure Function Apps, App Service •Monitoring & Observability: Azure Monitor •CI/CD & Workflow: Azure DevOps Pipelines •Access & Security: RBAC, identity management in Azure AD
