Product Development Manager.

The Product Development Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Product Development Leads and Development Engineers within the Moorpark A&D Engineering Development Team. This position will report to the Director, Engineering and will be located in Moorpark, CA. The Product Development Manager has the following main areas of responsibility: Drive Engineering success by ensuring use of consistent, rigorous engineering processes, tools, methods, standards, and techniques. Establish, measure, and drive improvements in standard work, processes, and procedures required for their team to be successful in a changing environment. Leverage experience and expertise to mentor, train, and develop their Product Development Leads and Development Engineers. Determine staffing levels and build high performing, diverse, and flexible teams that meet our customer project performance needs now and into the future. Technically oversee progress of new product development and work through design changes, test and performance anomalies with staff engineers and customers as required. Drive and support execution of your team’s projects in all areas: technical requirements review and verification, design creation and evaluation, risk assessments and mitigation plans, drawing and test procedure review, design review content, proposal technical and cost reviews, and problem solving. Support sales efforts, customer interface activities, customer problem resolution, and employee relations/morale as a member of the EBA&D management team. Facilitate a successful team-based organization. Requirements: The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 10 years of project, design or related engineering experience. Mechanical and/or Aerospace are the preferred engineering disciplines. Required experience includes problem solving/root cause analysis, leadership of multi-functional technical teams, project management, technical writing and cost estimating. Candidates should have the ability to interpret and analyze electrical and/or mechanical specifications and data. Knowledge of missile/launch vehicle/spacecraft systems as well as experience with manufacturing processes and product development is necessary. Experience with government specifications and industry standards related to aerospace components and systems’ design, manufacture, and test. Compensation: Salary Range: $140,000-175,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
