Base pay range $200,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr This client is a publicly traded P&C insurance/reinsurance carrier with global operations and a balanced portfolio of direct and indirect business. Seeking a VP, Investments Accounting to lead financial accounting and reporting for diverse asset classes. This role oversees day-to-day activities, maintains accounting practices and internal controls, and ensures timely financial analysis and reporting. Reporting to the Group Controller, the successful candidate will be a hands-on leader committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Manage global investment accounting team and collaborate with external accounting provider and internal investment management team for financial reporting. Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture by working closely with Controllers, ensuring accurate recognition of accounting for investment transactions. Drive accountability by evaluating new GAAP and statutory reporting impacts and assisting in implementing new business financial reporting. Understand data flow through financial systems, plan for changes, and prioritize enhancements. Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls within investment accounting activities. Collaborate with internal and external investment managers and treasury department for accurate, timely, and efficient data submission. Support annual and ongoing financial planning & analysis, coordinating with Risk Management & Capital Planning. Resolve reporting issues with the investment operations team, liaise with custodians, and interact with external and internal auditors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. 7-10 years of Investment Accounting experience in financial services. Prior U.S. GAAP and Public Company/SEC reporting experience is a plus. Working knowledge of financial modeling concepts. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High level of personal integrity and experience handling confidential data. Strong leadership skills, ability to establish credibility, and build trust. Strong business and collaboration skills, responsive to service needs. Demonstrated track record of excellent decision-making abilities. Ability to set priorities and manage multiple assignments.
