Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience. 10 years of experience in technical sourcing and supply chain management. Experience in people management. Experience in negotiating agreements for technology and supplier performance management.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA. Experience working with suppliers or contract manufacturers in a large infrastructure environment. Experience with industrial engineering and design programs. Experience managing interconnect commodity areas (e.g., cables, connectors etc.). Experience with data center technical management. Excellent leadership, presentation and influencing skills.
About The Job
Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Grow, lead, and develop a team of Global Commodity Managers to deliver sourcing and supply chain objectives for the interconnect commodity areas (e.g., cables, connectors etc.). Develop and execute strategies to achieve total cost of ownership, lead time, capacity, innovation, and quality objectives for the products managed through collaboration with Google cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, quality, operations, finance, etc.). Conduct strategic technology negotiations including comprehensive contractual agreements to deliver cost, lead time, and capacity objectives for the organization. Set quarterly and annual objectives and priorities for the team along with resource planning. Implement supply chain and process improvements through supplier performance metrics, scorecards, business continuity plans and regular business reviews.
