The Indianapolis facility specializes insheet metal fabricationandcase and tray delivery systemsfor theorthopedic and surgical technology markets. The site operates on afirst shift and a small second shiftwith a total of approximately70 associates. The Director of Operations will have facility leadership responsibility foroperations, materials management, manufacturing engineering, and administrative functionsin a fast-moving, automated manufacturing environment. This role includesprofit and loss accountabilityand support for generating new business in addition to manufacturing existing products. It is akey customer-facing rolewith large OEM clients. Responsibilities Accountable forP&L performance, achieving EBITDA growth targets, and maximizing return on invested capital. Develop and execute a long-term vision for the site. Lead and coordinateManufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Continuous Improvement, HR, Planning, andNew Product Introductionto improve year-over-year quality metrics. Champion aContinuous Improvement cultureusing LEAN principles, visual systems, structured problem solving, and best practices across Viant sites. Develop strategies acrosssupply chain, engineering, NPI, CI, automation, and HRto ensure world-class performance and competitiveness. OverseeNew Product Introduction, balancing business risk, technical uncertainty, and customer communication in partnership with Sales. Collaborate with the site Controller to developannual financial plans, monthly performance summaries, and rolling forecasts. Justify investments in training, staffing, and capital equipment. SupportCustomer Solutionsincluding quoting and customer service. Lead personnel actions includinghiring, promotions, performance reviews, and disciplinary measures. Ensure compliance withsafety, health, environmental, and quality standards. Perform other duties as necessary. Requirements Relevantundergraduate degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required. Provenleadership and team-buildingskills with a track record of managing top talent and fostering a positive culture. DemonstratedP&L managementexperience in a technically driven environment. Knowledge ofcomplex manufacturingincluding machining, metals processing, fabrication, and product assembly.Machine shop experiencedesired. Working knowledge ofcapacity planningandsupply chain management. Ability to manageadvanced manufacturing technologiesand develop ROI-driven financial plans. Strongcustomer interfaceskills with the ability to build relationships and drive solutions. Familiarity withFDA GMP,ISO 13485-2003,510k, and other medical regulatory requirements. Passion forLean Manufacturingand continuous process improvement. Strategic thinker with the ability to conceptualize and plan for the future (6 months to 5 years). Ability to analyze and communicatedeep technical materialeffectively.
