We are looking for a skilled and experienced

Oracle PL/SQL Developer

to join one of our top energy clients in Houston, TX! This candidate will design, develop, test, maintain, and support batch applications using Oracle PL/SQL for Retail Commissions and Amortization. Responsibilities: Develop Oracle PL/SQL applications. Create/Modify Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and functions. Create database objects like tables, views, triggers, types, synonyms based on requirements. Create new applications or enhance existing applications to produce commissions reports. Use Oracle Analytical functions, MERGE statements, WITH clause, Partitioning, Job logging, File handling using UTIL_FILE, External tables, Regular Expression functions, and Exception handling in the Oracle PL/SQL code. Optimize code by following performance tuning techniques and coding standards established within the team. Work closely with IT Technical Lead/Business team to understand requirements, analyze source tables and relationships, create technical design, follow consistent coding/SVN standards, and provide daily status updates. Create and test Unix scripts to transfer reports from Unix server to Windows share using sFTP server Perform Unit testing and end to end System testing of the Oracle PL/SQL application. Prior to UAT submission test and compare the reports to Production calc. reports and identify and fix discrepancies. Use analytics skills to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly Use SVN to maintain all database object scripts/source code. Follow versioning standards established by the team. Have code reviewed with IT lead prior to moving the code to QA environment Create ControlM job documents, create Change requests, and work with ControlM to get the jobs created and scheduled. Use ServiceNow ticketing system for opening, handling, and closing tickets and change requests. Follow SOX procedures for code maintenance and deployment. Monitor daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly batch processes and resolve job failures as soon as possible to fulfill established SLAs.

Top Skills:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant business discipline from an accredited four-year college or university 12+ years of experience in Software development in Oracle 12c or 19c 10+ years of strong development experience using Oracle PL/SQL including experience using features like Analytical functions, merge statements, WITH clause, oracle partitioning, job logging, exception handling, performance tuning 5+ years of experience in a Data Warehouse environment
