Site Superintendent- Western Side of Wisconsin
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented, deadline-driven Construction Superintendent with experience managing commercial and residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the on-site activities, coordinating and managing the construction team, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining desired levels of quality throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with all specifications and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job Site Management (70%): Take ownership and total charge of the day-to-day field operations for the project while meeting management objectives for safety, quality, and schedule. Provide leadership, establish, and maintain effective and productive working relationships of the on-site staff and subcontractors; and promote positive morale. Manage and coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project team to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost consideration which can include, contractors, sub-contractors, and labor force, to ensure work complies with plans, specifications, standards and meets contract requirements. Ensure all required materials, scheduled equipment, labor, direct crews, and inspections occur to support the project schedule, cost, effectiveness, safety, and overall site operation. Inspect, manage, and maintain quality of work completed. Responsible for site safety. Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for workers, visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policy.
Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
Provide timely interaction with supportive work groups such as Accounting, Maintenance, HR, etc. Work with the object team to maintain relationships with owners, visitors, subcontractors, and suppliers, Manage site work and logistics of construction site. Assist with business development, bidding, proposals and obtaining new work. Provide feedback on processes and procedures, as the company truly believes in continuous improvement-development. Resource Management (15%):
Complete the correct paperwork necessary to keep accurate records (inventory, daily logs, weekly site report, DNR reports, Punch list inspection report, Equipment logs, etc.) Manage final punch list and project closeout to assure timely completion. Manage contractors for all work performed onsite. Manage and adhere to a strict project schedule working with the Project Manager. Team Leadership (15%):
Management and supervision of work crews on site including: Mentor and train field personnel. Provide performance evaluations of field personnel. Manage foreman, team leads and their duties and ensure all have resources and information to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently. Manage adherence to work rules, safety policies, and performance expectations by administering SCS progressive disciplinary policy. Participate in weekly superintendent meetings and all construction department meetings, along with weekly project progress communicated with Project Manager and Construction Team Members. Manage the overall safety of the project and ensure all personnel have resources to perform their work safely. Requirements
Education and Experience
Required:
Construction Degree require d or equivalent education and experience. Must have valid driver's license
with reliable transportation to and from the job site. Must have 5+ years
of experience in a construction leadership role. 3+ years of proven leadership
or supervisory experience. OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain one in 90 days. Comprehensive understanding of all building codes and resources to ensure all codes are met. Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies. Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations Excellent understanding of plans and specifications Proficient with scheduling software and Microsoft applications Interrupt and build with the ability to read and understand blueprints. Knowledge of all aspects of the construction process Excellent problem-solving, organizational, time management, and decision-making skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be flexible and possess the ability to change priorities and direction based on the need of a project. Preferred:
Advance Degree in Construction Management Telehandler and/or Aerial/Boom lift certification CPR/First Aid certification 8+ years of Construction Superintendent experience Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 45-50 hours work week. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting/turning, crouching, crawling. Ability to climb, work on and carry a ladder. Comfortable working at various heights
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position involves working in all climates as well as multi-story buildings on an active construction site. This role routinely is exposed to dust and noise associated with construction sites.
Special Requirements:
This position requires regular travel (in and out of state as expansion occurs) with the ability to work 45-55 hours per week Monday - Friday, with occasional hours outside of that range as business necessitates. This position may require overnight stay near job sites regularly and/or travel between multiple job sites in the same day.
