Your journey starts nowprotect and innovate with MANTECH! MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Journeyman Database Administrator to join our team in Doral, FL. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of databases, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and security. Performs a variety of intermediate database tasks, including performance tuning, backup and recovery procedures, security management, and user access control. Proactively monitors database health and performance, troubleshoots emerging issues, and implements effective solutions to ensure database availability and reliability. Collaborates with Application Developers and other IT staff to ensure database systems meet defined business requirements and operational needs. Contributes to the development and implementation of database standards, best practices, and operational procedures, promoting consistency and efficiency, while receiving guidance and direction from more senior staff. Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS in field necessary to assume Database Administrator duties or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree 4 years of experience with 2+ years relevant Database Administrator experience. Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, and query optimization. DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification or a Database Vendor Certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Master (OCM), Microsoft Certified Azure Data EngineerAssociate, AWS Certified Database Specialty). Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field. Experience supporting DoD programs, cloud-based technologies, Risk Management Framework, and Zero Trust Architecture. ITIL certification. Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus. Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired. Clearance Requirements: Must have a current/active Secret clearance. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time. Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication verbally and via email, phone, and virtual communication platforms to interface with co-workers and customers. Must be able to occasionally move about inside an office environment to access file cabinets, office machinery, and communicate with co-workers.
