The driver operates and maintains the mobile medical or dental vehicle and assists the clinical team. Drivers ensure the vehicle is clean and mechanically sound, perform pre and postroute inspections, obey traffic laws, respond to emergencies, assist patients on and off the vehicle, load and unload equipment and keep travel logs. They may also help with inventory and patient services.
Responsibilities Include
Driving the mobile clinic safely to scheduled sites, obeying all traffic laws and ensuring ontime arrival. Performing daily vehicle inspections, fueling and servicing the vehicle and reporting maintenance needs. Maintaining a clean, organized vehicle interior and exterior; ensuring equipment is secured during transport. Assisting patients on and off the vehicle, loading and unloading supplies and equipment and setting up clinic sites. Keeping accurate mileage and service logs and assisting the team with inventory management. Serving as a liaison between the mobile unit and facility staff and providing basic patient assistance as trained. Ideal Qualifications
Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass a physical and drug screening. Highschool diploma or equivalent; prior experience driving large vehicles or working in healthcare preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to assist patients with limited mobility. Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable working independently and on Fridays when needed. Availability for Monday-Thursday 7:45 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-1 p.m. routes.
