Database Administrator

Roles & Responsibilities • At a minimum, a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is required • 3 to 5 years' experience in SAP IQ database technology, expertise in SAP ASE or Microsoft SQL server are considered as well • Strong communication and customer engagement skills • Team player with ability to work independently • Hands on experience with SAP IQ database • Hands on experience with SAP ASE and Microsoft SQL server are considered as well • Experience in SAP SQL development - Writing stored procedures, functions and triggers • Exposure to database design and building relational/dimensional data models for data warehouse • Experience in SAP IQ database performance tuning • Experience in Unix shell scripting and Python is a must • Knowledge of Python Required • Knowledge of Oracle or other database platforms is a plus • Hands on experience with Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, MongoDB, ETL Tools and BI tools is a plus • Experience in Hadoop/Hive/HDFS/Impala is a plus • Understanding data management and governance concepts such as data quality, data purging, metadata management, data lineage, data lakes etc. is a plus • Cloud and Snowflake certifications are plus Roles & Responsibilities • Builds data models including conceptual, logical, and physical design • Review and Build DDL and DML packages based on application team requirements • Develop and enhance existing framework for data load/unload, export/import, purging, stat gather and other database monitoring. • Pro-actively monitor database locks, blocks, long running queries and act on issues • Optimize for throughput, concurrency, load and performance with best practices for SQL queries, caching, indexing strategies and other performance best practices • Work closely with production support and developers to identify trouble queries, analyze query plan and tune queries for performance issues • Ensure proper process and policies are being followed by enforcing data management and governance. • Work with SA and DBA to ensure latest VTM patches and bug fixes are applied. • Monitor DB and tablespace size and keep database size under control by purging data • Create, build and maintain lower environments (i.e. UAT/QA/DEV) and regularly perform data refresh on these environment • Involve in architecture, design and development of data wareh ouse and operational databases • Defining strategic roadmaps for migration of data stores and data-related applications to the cloud and/or other large data warehouse platforms

Salary Range: $110,000 to $120,000 per year
