Position Summary: The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Harris-Stowe State University Women’s Soccer program. This includes assisting with team development, planning and leading practices, recruiting qualified student-athletes, providing instruction on techniques for optimal performance, and ensuring compliance with NAIA eligibility standards. The Assistant Coach plays an integral role in building a competitive, student-centered program that aligns with the mission and values of the University. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Instruct student-athletes in the rules, fundamentals, and strategies of collegiate-level soccer.

Assist in developing and executing effective practice plans and game strategies.

Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to be successful both academically and athletically.

Coordinate team travel, including driving University/rental vehicles to away competitions.

Promote a positive team culture and provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to student-athletes.

Manage assigned areas of the team’s operational budget and support fundraising efforts.

Recommend and implement improvements for the continued growth of the program.

Foster strong relationships across campus to ensure the program is integrated into the broader University community.

Uphold and promote the philosophy and values of the HSSU Athletics Department and the University.

Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with NAIA and institutional eligibility requirements.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or other designated administrator.

Qualifications: Prior coaching and/or collegiate playing experience preferred.

Understanding of and commitment to NAIA rules and regulations.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.
