Overview
We are seeking a junior data visualization developer to support a key federal client. The ideal candidate will have experience using modern data visualization platforms and front-end technologies and a strong ability to collaborate with data analysts, developers, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality, user-centered solutions. This role will play a key part in developing interactive dashboards, intuitive reports, and self-service analytics tools that turn complex data into actionable insights for judiciary leadership and stakeholders. This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC area, requiring on-site presence three days per week. Responsibilities
Assist in developing interactive dashboards, visual reports, and self-service BI solutions using tools such as SAP Business Objects, Power BI and Tableau. Collaborate with analysts, developers, and business users to gather requirements and implement visualization solutions aligned with project objectives. Support data preparation and transformation using SQL and related tools to ensure accurate data sources for reporting. Contribute to front-end visual enhancements using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as needed. Ensure visualization outputs adhere to accessibility, data integrity, and security standards. Participate in documentation, version control, and review processes as part of a collaborative development team. Required Skills and Experience
Exposure to BI tools such as SAP Business Objects, Power BI or Tableau. Basic proficiency in SQL and experience working with structured datasets. Exposure to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with JavaScript charting libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js, or jQuery. Understanding of data governance and accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508 compliance). Familiarity with Agile development practices and version control systems such as Git. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business management, or a related field. 3+ years of professional experience in data visualization, BI development, or front-end development with a focus on data representation.
