Summary: The Program Manager Specialty Pharmacy Education and Research is responsible for leading and expanding the department's educational and research efforts. The Program Manager serves as Director of the PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program, maintains the specialty pharmacy's education program, and oversees the clinical teams' scholarly work. The Program Manager serves as a role model of clinical practice, teaching and research for the clinical pharmacist team. Responsibilities:

Administration Serves as Director of the CHRISTUS Specialty Pharmacy PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program Designs an educational program for the resident to meet the ASHP PGY 1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Standards and Goals/Objectives Updates residency policies & procedures and documents to remain in compliance with the ASHP Standard Leads ASHP accreditation visits Performs annual recruiting of candidates including coordination of onsite interviews Collaborates with other directors and preceptors to create a diverse learning experience schedule for the resident Serves as mentor for the PGY1 Community-Based Resident in Specialty Pharmacy Ensures preceptor compliance with ASHP requirements Education Develops and maintains educational materials for the specialty pharmacy program as required by accrediting bodies and payor contracts Ensures specialty pharmacy staffs' compliance with all educational requirements Stays abreast of developments in specialty pharmacy practice Coordinates educational sessions for the team as appropriate regarding any developments such as:

New products to market Updates to accreditation requirements Industry trends pertinent to operations and clinical practice

Research and Scholarship Identifies research or grant opportunities Prepares the grant applications and lead or participate in the research projects Engages with pharmaceutical companies to identify opportunities for collaboration in research Serves as a research SME for the clinical pharmacist team Engages with system informatics team for data collection Presents research at national conferences Prepares research manuscripts for publication Clinical practice Maintains a robust clinical practice and serves as a role model for peers and residents Job Requirements:

Education/Skills Graduate of ACPE accredited school of pharmacy required Doctor of Pharmacy degree required Experience 3+ years of specialty pharmacy experience preferred Knowledge of URAC and ACHC preferred Knowledge of ASHP residency requirements and processes preferred Previous residency program director or coordinator experience preferred EPIC suite products experience preferred (EMR, Compass Rose, Willow Ambulatory) Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Licensed pharmacist in the state of practice required Pharmacy preceptor license required Work Type:
