Junior Computer Operator

The Junior Computer Operator is expected to be able to:

  • Perform operation and maintenance of peripherals, including processors, disk drives, and printers.
  • Resolve more complex operating problems.
  • Perform non-standard systems maintenance activities.
  • Assist in determining equipment settings and operating instructions.
  • Provide technical assistance to lower level operators and system users.
  • Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program.
  • Read job set-up instructions to determine equipment to be used, order of use, material such as disks and paper to be loaded, and control settings.
  • Retrieve, separate and sort program output as needed, and send data to specified users.
  • May operate spreadsheet programs and other types of software to load and manipulate data and to produce reports.
  • May provide guidance and training to more junior staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with a CI Poly
  • HS, 8-10 years experience; BS, 2-4 years experience; MS 0-2 years experience

Overview:

We are seeking a Junior Computer Operator to join our Task Order proposal on the Defense Intelligence Agency's Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise III (SITE III). The Junior Computer Operator performs operation and maintenance of peripherals, including processors, disk drives, and printers. Resolves more complex operating problems. Performs non-standard systems maintenance activities. Assists in determining equipment settings and operating instructions. Provides technical assistance to lower level operators and system users. Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program. Read job set-up instructions to determine equipment to be used, order of use, material such as disks and paper to be loaded, and control settings. Retrieve, separate and sort program output as needed, and send data to specified users.   • Work schedule: "Normal work hours" constitute on average 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week (excluding breaks and meal periods) within standard operational hours occurring 0600-1800, Monday-Friday, excluding Federal holidays. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
  • Amount of Travel: 20%

Physical Demands:

  • Wage Information: Target salary range: $108,000.00-115,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements.
