nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Engineer to support our growing portfolio of commercial and industrial solar projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical engineering background and deep familiarity with solar construction, with a specific focus on interpreting design drawings, understanding 3D space, and bridging the gap between paper and field execution.
nnThis role plays a critical part in ensuring that our solar installations are constructible, efficient, and aligned with real-world site conditions. Youll act as a key technical liaison between the design, construction, and field teams to drive resolution on constructability issues and facilitate timely project delivery.
nnYour Role:

- Review and interpret construction drawings and electrical/mechanical plans with a critical eye toward real-world feasibility and sequencing. n
- Identify discrepancies between design intent and site conditions, propose solutions, and escalate issues to key project stakeholders as needed. n
- Collaborate with design engineers, field teams, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure components are integrated effectively and practically on-site. n
- Support the construction team in understanding and implementing technical aspects of the design. n
- Coordinate with the design team to request and track drawing revisions and updates. n
- Conduct field walks and site assessments to validate site conditions and compare with as-built and planned designs. n
- Track and document design-related RFIs (Requests for Information) and field-driven change orders. n
- Assist in quality control by ensuring all systems and components are being installed per the approved design documents and industry standards. n
- Maintain familiarity with materials, components, and construction methods used in solar installations, and how systems integrate mechanically and electrically. n
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Procurement Managers, and field staff to support scheduling, procurement, and material take-off activities based on detailed drawing review. n
- Assist with design review for the EPC-as-a-Service team during the pre-construction phase, as time allows, to ensure constructability and alignment with field execution. n
What Youll Bring:

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. n
- ~5 years of relevant experience in the commercial or industrial solar industry. n
- Proven experience working in a construction-oriented role, ideally with exposure to both fieldwork and design. n
- Strong understanding of how mechanical and electrical components fit together in solar PV systems. n
- Excellent ability to visualize and interpret 2D drawings and 3D spatial relationships. n
- Familiarity with PV system components (racking, modules, inverters, electrical BOS). n
- Skilled in identifying field challenges and proactively working toward solutions. n
- Comfortable communicating technical issues with engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and field personnel. n
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar tools for drawing review and markup. n
- Basic understanding of civil/site conditions and how they impact solar installations. n
- Experience working with Autodesk Civil 3D or other 3D modeling tools. n
- Familiarity with NEC code as it applies to PV installations. n
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification . n
- Knowledge of project management software such as Procore. n

- Must be comfortable walking construction sites, climbing ladders, and working in outdoor environments. n

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this role is $125,000-$150,000. The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
