Join Our Team as an Industrial Electrician!
We are seeking a talented and motivated Industrial Electrician to perform skilled journey-level work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment at our plant specializing in OSB Lumber production. What You'll Do:
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul a variety of electro-mechanical and solid-state electrical equipment with the use of electrical test equipment and tools.
- Provide preventive and predictive maintenance for electrical systems through daily rounds and assessments.
- Install new electrical and electronic equipment as per the National Electrical Code and company standards.
- Maintain and repair critical electrical and electronic systems, including Powerflex variable frequency drives (VFD) and controls.
- Perform high-voltage switching and operation of generators to support ongoing operations.
- Ensure station Lockout/Tagout procedures are followed as per company policy.
- Collaborate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and external contractors.
- Lead and coordinate a team during maintenance or repair tasks.
- Comply with safety regulations and practices to ensure a secure work environment.
- Engage in all assigned duties diligently and courteously.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of methods, equipment, and materials used in the electrical trade.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Solid understanding of electrical laws, codes, regulations, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams effectively.
- Knowledge of AC circuits and proficiency in electrical troubleshooting.
- Capability to work safely at heights and with various powered tools and equipment.
- A self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts for emergency repairs.
- Strong communication skills to follow instructions accurately.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Control (PLC) units, particularly Allen Bradley and Siemens.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical experience, including maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
- High School diploma or GED equivalency; AA Degree preferred.
Working Hours:
- This role requires a 2-2-3 rotating shift schedule after the initial training, comprising 12.25-hour shifts either from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM or from 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM, alternating shifts every two weeks.
