A fleet mechanic is responsible for inspecting and maintaining the safety and efficiency of vehicles for maintaining and repairing ambulances, wheelchair vans and other company vehicles. Fleet mechanics conduct regular maintenance of the engines, repairing their malfunctioning components, and upgrading their system for optimal performance. They oversee the overall management of fleet operations, keeping an organized record of resolutions for reference to avoid reoccurrence of defects. A fleet mechanic coordinates with the fleet manager for necessary replacements of vehicles to avoid delays in operations and prevent potential hazards on the road.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- -2+ years of mechanical experience required. n

- -Experience in fleet and asset inventory management. n

nPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
nWorking conditions are in a mechanic garage type atmosphere. Physical requirements include lifting 100lbs by yourself and 200lbs with assistance. Subject to sitting, standing, squatting, leaning, laying under vehicles and walking for long periods of time. Requires speech, hearing, and visual acuity.
