Position Overview

n

The Hardware Engineer, Principal will be part of a small engineering team developing a new generation of cardiac electrophysiology equipment based on EnChannel’s existing DePolar and NanoAblate products. Particular focus will be on inter-module interconnects, digital circuit and embedded processor engineering, power supply design and overall system-level construction and verification to develop and evaluate new features and performance levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out all tasks in a way consistent with EnChannel’s core values of focus, discipline and professionalism.
  • n
  • Participate in engineering design reviews to support the company’s Quality processes.
  • n
  • Responsible for power supply design, simulation, prototyping and verification.
  • n
  • Responsible for definition and management of system interconnects (e.g., cables).
  • n
  • Responsible for updating/upgrading existing circuit designs to support new features and modified performance expectations.

Education, Experience and Skills Required

n

Below are the minimum skills, formal education, certifications or training, and practical experience required to perform the general functions and duties of the role.

  • BSEE and 11+ years’ experience in professional electronics environments.
  • n
  • Capital medical equipment and IEC-60601 approaches an advantage, especially in cardiac electrophysiology.
  • n
  • Design of systems with multiple interconnected assemblies built around complex digital and mixed-signal hardware.
  • n
  • EMI/EMC mitigation and compliance.
  • n
  • Familiarity with multiple time zones and multi-site workflows.
  • n
  • Use of Quality Management Systems (e.g., QCBD).
  • n
  • Altium schematic familiarity – use to read, draw, explain.
  • n
  • LTspice simulation and comparison with real results.
  • n
  • Use of standard MS Office tools especially Word and Excel.
  • n
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • n
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and general electronics aptitude.
