Mechanical Engineer – Racing Applications

nATI is seeking a technically skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This in-person role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of high-performance drivetrain components for racing and performance automotive applications. You’ll work closely with manufacturing, quality, and assembly teams to bring innovative, -ready designs to life.

nKey Responsibilities:
n· Design and develop high-precision drivetrain components for motorsports and performance vehicles
n· Lead multiple engineering projects from concept through production in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
n· Perform detailed stress analysis, FEA, and tolerance stack-ups to ensure durability and performance under extreme conditions
n· Collaborate with machinists and technicians to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and assembly
n· Support testing, validation, and continuous improvement based on real-world performance data
n· Maintain detailed documentation of design iterations, calculations, and test results
nRequired Technical Skills & Qualifications:
n· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s for advanced simulation or materials focus)
n· 5–10 years of experience in product development, preferably in motorsports or high-performance automotive sectors
n· Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and Autodesk Inventor ); strong understanding of GD&T
nAdvanced knowledge of:
- Fatigue and stress life prediction for rotating components
- Tolerance analysis and stack-up calculations
- Materials science, including metallurgy, heat treatment, and surface coatings
Familiarity with :
n* CNC machining, welding, and precision assembly
n*Skilled in using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, hardness testers) and CMM
n*Excellent communication and documentation skills
n*Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently or in a small, agile team
