Industrial Electrician
This role presents an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Maintenance team. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the repair, installation, replacement, programming, and testing of electrical circuits and equipment. You will also assist in performing routine to moderately complex repairs or installations of automatic electrical and electronic controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test electrical systems and circuits in wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs.
- Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Collaborate with vendors to identify needed parts and make recommendations to management.
- Understand and update instrumentation loop diagrams, electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Program AC & DC variable speed drivers.
- Update power distribution systems, MCCs, and switchgear.
- Install electrical equipment efficiently and safely.
Qualifications for Success:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Sound understanding of AC and DC control circuits.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, including knowledge of 3-phase motor circuits, MCCs, power distribution, and lighting circuits.
- Capability to work outdoors in various temperatures and in loud, high-volume environments, performing physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, sit, climb stairs, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces.
- Ability to pass a written, oral, and/or visual electrical exam.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven troubleshooting experience, including PID loops and familiarity with pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and Powerflex drives, along with related software.
- Knowledge of Scanning and Optimization systems within the lumber industry.
- Understanding of Process Network Communication Systems, including Ethernet and Fiber Optic.
- Familiarity with basic network topography and infrastructure.
