Job DescriptionPharmacy TechnicianLocation: Las Vegas, NM Department: Pharmacy Services Employment Type: Full-TimeOverview:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital team in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician supports medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management to ensure safe and efficient patient care.Key Responsibilities:Assist pharmacists in preparing, packaging, and dispensing medicationsDeliver medications to nursing units and other departments as neededMaintain accurate medication records and ensure proper labeling and storageManage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and suppliesCompound sterile and non-sterile preparations following safety and compliance guidelinesHandle insurance claims and prior authorizations under pharmacist directionOperate and maintain pharmacy automation systems and equipmentEnsure compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulationsProvide excellent customer service to patients, nurses, and physiciansQualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a Pharmacy Technician training program preferredCurrent Pharmacy Technician license in the state of New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain)National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferredMinimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting preferredStrong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication, organizational, and computer skillsKnowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug namesWork Environment:Hospital-based setting with rotating shifts, weekends, and holiday coverage as neededMust be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
