Position Summary:This position is responsible for assisting the the Dispatch Manager in directing and leading the work of others in their department including professional drivers. The position performs a variety of complicated tasks and is ultimately responsible for driving the work in the field through a force of dispatch process. The Lead Dispatch Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of the company's Dispatch Department. Lead Dispatch Coordinator is to abide by company safety policies and all other local, state and federal laws including FMCSA 49 CFR.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with the scheduling of driver routes. Responsible that all runs are on time. Manage driver compliance - housekeeping, daily inspection policies, timesheets, log books, etc. Manage and communicate vehicle issues with the Maintenance shop. Coordinate the usage of units with the maintenance department . Responsible for handling internal and external customer complaints. Discussing challenges and working with management to develop action plans to improve driver performance, profitability and customer service. Manage all routing modifications to ensure the business is utilizing equipment and staff efficiently. Maximize utilization of drivers and internal equipment. Coordinate and track location of units and drivers utilizing GPS system Responsible for assuring that all Dispatch Coodinator's complete their daily assignments. The Lead Dispatch Coordinator will assist with personnel issues such as employee coaching, disciplinary action, scheduling, and coordinating training. Coordination of driver time off requests. Communicate weather conditions to drivers Coordinate alternate routes due to weather or traffic conditions Assist drivers with vehicle breakdown Provides the payroll department all driver's trip control sheet Other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE:

2 years of job related experience Bilingual (English/Spanish) Must be able to work as a team 3+ years of Hours of Service EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
