Position Summary
As the Lead Dispatcher, this individual will provide direction across all shifts including training and compliance, and ensuring operational effectiveness of all communications equipment, and processes. The Dispatcher Lead will perform all duties as a Dispatcher, including the following:
Will report all issues to the Supervisor.
Responsible for the assignment drivers for conveyance passengers, and know which driver is in which vehicle.
Receive calls from Soldiers, Family Members and Retirees via telephone and relay missions via radios to drivers for execution.
Provide total calls per day, time to pick up rider(s) after being called, total ridership per day, and total miles per day per vehicle.
Enter the data into a tracking system provided by the Government.
Able to determine the assignment of vehicles by factors such as length and purpose of trip, passenger requirements, and where drivers are in relation to customers that need to be picked up.
Records time of departure, destination, cargo, passengers, expected time of return and investigates overdue vehicles.
Confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed or personal items left in vehicles.
Modify daily route schedules to meet the requirements of missions.
Direct activities of drivers, to pick up passengers in the most efficient manner possible.
Contact drivers, and dispatch personnel for assignments and/or required information as directed by the Shuttle Service Supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
Valid state issued Driver's License.
Class B Commercial Driver's License is desired.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have a minimum of 1 year experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Professional telephone etiquette.
Familiarity with the Greater Fort Wainwright area.
