Dairy - Pasteurizer - Vacation Relief

Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for:
Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in the Mid Valley Family Foods Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource, and sustain improvement opportunities. Owning and promoting a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior. Must perform EQA test per shift Perform USDA seal checks daily Check the temperature in the culture freezer daily Runs butterfat and solid non-fat tests on all raw and pasteurized milk and milk products to ensure proper standardizing according to Producers Dairy and state standards. Inventories all raw and pasteurized dairy and non-dairy products prior to start processing, to include all milk products, all juices and drinks, and orange juice concentrate. Accurate working knowledge of computer-based batching program and the Pearson square method to ensure accurate batching and standardizing of all dairy products processed and to maintain a plant loss of less than 0.5%. Maintains proper brix of all juices and drinks processed through the use of formulas and refractometer Maintains accurate and proper records, H.T.S.T. charts, inventories, and product batching records according to Producers Dairy and state rules and regulations. Follows all federal and state regulations Starts up and maintains the separator at an efficient operating level. Sanitizes line and tank. Collects tank and line bacterial samples. Keeps work area neat and clean at all times. Maintains product flow through plant to ensure all fillers are supplied with products as needed. Processes all products for production needs, responsible for the correct amount processed as well as proper butterfat, solids non-fat, total solids on dairy products, and correct amount and brix on juices and drinks. Ensures the proper amount of vitamins in each product. Ensures all load-out cream sales Properly cleans separator Properly cleans tanks, as needed. Returns all excess ingredients brought over from ingredient room in a clean, neat manner and properly sealed. When dumping any type of powders, wears an apron and dust mask. After dumping powder, hoses down area with hot water. When working with chemicals, the following protection must be worn: eye protection (safety glasses or face mask), apron, rubber gloves, and rubber boots. Unloads condensed skim from tanker to R-7. Reports any safety hazards or accidents to a supervisor immediately. Uses work orders on items that need to be corrected that are non-emergencies. Fills out correctly, legibly, and in complete detail of the problem. Other Duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED. Must possess a California State Pasteurizer's license Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure
Hourly: $30.05
